Sales Manager - Team Sports Channel (Remote Considered)

Honey Stinger is seeking a Sales Manager to lead the growth of our Team Sports Channel, supporting direct sales to professional, collegiate, and high school athletic programs nationwide. This role combines customer management with strategic business development and reports to the Sr. Director of Sports Marketing & Team Sales.

You will be the primary point of contact for hundreds of team accounts and tasked with deepening relationships with RD’s, coaches, trainers, and administrators who influence sport nutrition decisions. You’ll play a key role in expanding our wholesale presence, driving team engagement, and increasing adoption of the Honey Stinger brand within locker rooms, training tables, and sidelines nationwide.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of 700+ accounts supporting 2,000+ teams
  • Serve as the national lead for all men’s and women’s professional sports teams (MLB, NHL, NBA, WNBA, NFL, NWSL, etc.) and collegiate/high school programs
  • Own annual revenue targets, team growth goals, and pipeline health across the channel
  • Leverage product knowledge to match solutions to team needs in performance nutrition settings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (e.g., registered dietitians, coaches, strength staff, athletic trainers, directors of operations)
  • Drive adoption of the Team Wholesale Portal to increase passive revenue and streamline order processing
  • Identify and convert new accounts through cold outreach, networking, trade shows, on-site visits, and distributor relationship management
  • Plan and execute logistics for all team-related trade shows, conferences, and industry events
  • Represent the company at association meetings and partner gatherings
  • Collaborate with marketing and media teams to launch sales-driving initiatives that support brand campaigns
  • Plan and manage trade spend budgets for direct wholesale customers and institutional distributor
  • Lead execution of promotional planning and outbound communication strategies
  • Manage inventory allocations and contribute to monthly and annual sales forecasting
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, usage, and performance nutrition best practices
  • Provide quotes, credit terms, and bid specs; prepare and submit contracts and sales orders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate order processing, timely fulfillment, and customer satisfaction
  • Report regularly on sales performance, account activity, and lead progress
  • Travel up to 20% to meetings, trade shows, events, and on-site visits
  • Serve as lead representative for Event Wholesale customers accessing the Team Wholesale Portal
  • Coordinate strategic email campaigns to drive volume and retention
  • Support influencer relationship development in team sports, aligning with comms calendar, social media, and digital content strategy
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Strong sales acumen with proven negotiation and relationship-building capabilities
  • Thorough understanding of technical or performance-based product positioning
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and adept at managing multiple priorities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience with Shopify and NetSuite strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Klaviyo email marketing tools is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ year experience in Team Sales or related field preferred

Annual Salary Range: $75,000 - $90,000
