Alex Pond

Born in Vermont, Alex moved to Steamboat Springs in 2005 with very little athletic background or knowledge of the vast Rocky Mountains. He discovered a passion for Mountain biking in 2009 in the local Town Challenge Mountain Bike series and quickly found his love for being in the mountains, trails and pushing his physical abilities. Soon after growing into the professional categories of mountain biking he discovered Ski Mountaineer Racing also known as Skimo. This complemented his summer endurance training and brought a new excitement for living in a mountain town.  Along with training and racing, Allex enjoys getting out with his rockstar wife who keeps him extra fit with her athletic prowess.  Together they love teaching their 11 year old daughter Reesa the love of riding bikes, and skiing and plan to pass along this passion to their 6 Month old son, Axel, who already has the thrill of adventure running through his veins.
