Sam grew up in Boulder, Colorado, with the Rocky Mountains as her childhood playground. After a rough collegiate career, she reignited her passion for running by dancing on the trails. In her rookie year on the trails, she was named 2019 USATF Sub-Ultra Trail Runner of the Year, won a USATF national championship, and represented Team USA twice. Besides running around the Palouse, she coaches with University of Idaho’s XC/TF team, teaches a philosophy of human movement class at Washington State University, and is pursuing a PhD at UI in the philosophy of human movement.
